Different Shades LTD – Terms & Conditions

1. About Us

Different Shades LTD is a property improvement company based in London, UK, offering services such as painting, decorating, handyman work, and similar trades through both home consultations and Zoom-based quotes.

 

2. Booking Process

• All consultations (Zoom or in-person) must be booked through our online platform.

• By booking, you agree to provide accurate contact and property information.

• Booking a consultation or quote does not guarantee job acceptance.

• Quotes are non-binding and subject to final confirmation.

• Acceptance of a quote must be confirmed in writing (email or SMS).

 

 3. Deposits & Payments

• A mandatory 30% deposit is required before any work can commence.

• The remaining balance is due immediately upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.

• Deposits can be paid by bank transfer, card payment, or any method stated on our invoice.

• Scope of service will be agreed upon and documented before any work begins.

 

4. Cancellations & Refunds

• Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.

• If cancelled under 48 hours but more than 24, the remaining portion of the deposit (after deduction of any costs or work already done) will be refunded.

• If cancelled under 24 hours, the deposit is non-refundable.

• If cancelled before 48 hours, the deposit is refunded in full.

 

5. Changes to the Job Scope

• If the scope of the job changes after a quote has been accepted, a revised quote or fee will be provided.

• If we accept the changes, full payment for the additional work is required upfront before that extra work begins.

 

6. Access & Parking Requirements

• You must ensure clear access to the work area at the agreed times.

• Any delays caused by restricted access may result in additional charges.

• The client is responsible for arranging parking or covering any parking fines incurred during work unless agreed otherwise.

 

7. Insurance & Liability

• Different Shades LTD holds valid public liability insurance.

• We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

• Clients must inform us of any risks or structural concerns on-site.

 

8. Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse service if we believe a property presents a health/safety risk, or in cases of inappropriate behaviour, abuse, or unreasonable demands.

 

 9. Guarantees & Complaints

• We aim to deliver quality work. If there is an issue, complaints must be raised within 7 days of job completion.

• Any guarantees or warranties will be stated in writing if offered.

 

10. Intellectual Property

• All content created by Different Shades LTD (photos, work plans, designs, etc.) remains our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing.

 

 11. Privacy & Data Protection

• Your information will be handled in line with our [Privacy Policy] and UK GDPR regulations.

• We will never sell or share your data without your permission.

 

12. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated. The version active at the time of booking or agreement will apply unless otherwise notified.

 

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law. Any disputes will be settled in the courts of England and Wales.
